Tata Communications Crosses ₹24,000 Crore Revenue Mark in FY26

Tata Communications Limited, a global digital ecosystem enabler, has released its audited consolidated financial results for the quarter and fiscal year ended March 31, 2026. The company demonstrated resilient top-line growth, with annual income from operations climbing to ₹24,802.72 crore, a 7.3% increase over the previous fiscal year.

While revenue showed a steady upward trajectory, net profitability for the year was impacted by higher operational expenses and non-recurring gains in the previous year's base.

Annual Financial Performance (FY26 vs. FY25)

The company's full-year results highlight a scale-up in its global data and digital services business:

Income from Operations: Reached ₹24,802.72 crore, up from ₹23,108.59 crore in FY25.

Total Income: Crossed the ₹25,000 crore milestone to stand at ₹25,104.45 crore.

Profit After Tax (PAT): Reported at ₹996.85 crore for the year, compared to ₹1,836.78 crore in the prior year. The decline is largely attributed to the absence of high exceptional gains and higher network transmission costs.

Quarterly Momentum (Q4FY26)

The final quarter of the fiscal showed strong seasonal demand in the enterprise segment:

Net Profit: Stood at ₹259.27 crore for the March quarter.

Operating Efficiency: Profit before tax and exceptional items stood at ₹413.83 crore, reflecting stable margins despite rising input costs.

Cost Analysis & Digital Infrastructure Spend

As Tata Communications transitions from a traditional carrier to a "CommTech" leader, its expenditure profile reflects heavy investment in next-generation platforms:

Network and Transmission: The largest expense head, rising to ₹11,361.83 crore annually (compared to ₹10,047.77 crore in FY25), driven by global bandwidth demand and subsea cable maintenance.

Employee Benefits: Rose to ₹4,938.93 crore, supporting a global workforce focused on cybersecurity, cloud, and IoT solutions.

Finance Costs: Successfully managed down to ₹181.69 crore in Q4, a decrease from ₹201.42 crore in Q3, indicating efficient debt management.

Strategic Highlights:

Data Business Dominance: Continued shift toward high-margin data services and collaboration solutions.
