JSW Steel's February 2026 Production Dips 2% Amid Planned Upgrades

JSW Steel reported consolidated crude steel production of 23.66 lakh tonnes for February 2026, marking a 2% year-on-year decline from 24.07 lakh tonnes.

Indian operations contributed 23.06 lakh tonnes, down 1% from 23.32 lakh tonnes, primarily due to the ongoing shutdown of Blast Furnace 3 (BF3) at Vijayanagar Works for capacity upgradation since September 2025. Excluding BF3's prior-year output, Indian volumes grew approximately 8% year-on-year, driven by full ramp-up at JSW Vijayanagar Metallics Limited (JVML), achieving 97% capacity utilization without BF3 (88% including it).

JSW Steel USA's Ohio facility produced 0.60 lakh tonnes, a 20% drop from 0.75 lakh tonnes, attributed to post-caster upgrade ramp-up in January 2026 and extreme winter storm disruptions.

Shares of JSW Steel Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 1178.75 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 1214.85. The total number of shares traded during the day was 29103 in over 2493 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 1223.10 and intraday low of 1173.30. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 34786627.00.
