As part of its strategic initiative to foray into the solar power generation segment, OGPCL raised funds through a Rights Issue to implement a 25 MW AC Solar Power Project through its subsidiary, M/s Delta Renewable Energy Private Limited ("DELTA"). Pursuant to this initiative, DELTA has successfully commissioned a 7 MW AC Solar Power Project at Krishnasamudhram Village, Tiruttani Taluk, Tiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu. This development marks OGPCL's entry into the solar energy sector, complementing its established expertise in wind power.
The 7 MW AC project received its service connection on December 5, 2025, and, upon the timely completion of all procedural formalities, was successfully commissioned on December 6, 2025. This milestone reflects the Company's diversification strategy and its continued commitment to strengthening its renewable energy portfolio.
Implications of the Development
The project is expected to meet the growing energy requirements of existing clients while supporting the expansion of the Company's customer base. It is proposed to operate under the Group Captive Model, with the power generated being supplied to the captive shareholders of DELTA. The addition of solar capacity enhances the Company's ability to deliver a balanced renewable energy mix, bolsters long-term revenue stability, and positions OGPCL competitively within India's evolving cleanenergy landscape.
This project reinforces the Company's vision of expanding into multi-source renewable energy and contributing significantly to national clean-energy objectives. Delta is currently in the process of finalizing the land parcels for the implementation of the remaining 18 MW AC Solar Power Project, and further updates will be provided as the project advances.
