Fire incident at Unit 1 of Neyveli New Thermal Power Station

There was a fire incident in Unit - I of Neyveli New Thermal Power Station (NNTPS) (2x500 MW), Neyveli on Dec 22, 2022 at 11:30 Hours, in which 5 workmen sustained fire injuries.

After initial treatment at Neyveli General Hospital, injured persons have been referred to Apollo Hospitals, Chennai for further higher treatment.

Fire was quenched and situation brought under control. Unit-I of NNTPS has been stopped to check the healthiness of the system.

An enquiry Committee has been constituted to study the root cause of the fire incident.

Shares of NLC India Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 84.65 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 85.00. The total number of shares traded during the day was 764193 in over 7602 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 86.25 and intraday low of 81.00. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 63778121.00.
