Carborundum Universal establishes New coated abrasives plant at Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu

Carborundum Universal Ltd has announced that the Company has established a new coated abrasives plant at Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu at a cost of about Rs 50 crores. The plant has a capacity to manufacture 15 million square metres of coated abrasive products per annum. The new plant was inaugurated yesterday and trial production has commenced. The plant has a state-of-the-ad 1650 mm wide width maker and is one of the largest plants in Asia.

With this facility in place, the Company has enhanced its total coated abrasives manufacturing capacity from about 11 million square metres to 26 million square metres per annum.
