ACC receives Good Corporate Citizen Award for the year 2005-2006

Associated Cement Companies Ltd (ACC) has announced that the Company received the Good Corporate Citizen Award for the year 2005-2006 at a function organised by The Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) on September 25, 2006 where the chief guest was His Excellency Shri. SM Krishna, Governor of Maharashtra while Mr. Kamal Nath Hon'ble Minister for Commerce and Industry was Guest of Honour. The Company received this award in recognition of its corporate achievements and its ongoing endeavors in improving the quality of life of the community.

Shri. Kamal Nath presented the award to Mr. A K Jain, Wholetime Director of the Company.

The citation singled out the Company as being a corporate organization that "has always reached out beyond its business interests and adopted a holistic approach of working towards an environmentally sustainable industry while pursuing the objective of creation of a better society."

For this years Award, BCCI’s panel of judges included eminent personalities like Justice Mr. S M Jhunjhunwala - Former Judge, Bombay High Court, Prof. A D Sawant - Pro Vice Chancellor, Mumbai University and Mr. A K Jain - I A S., Sr. Advisor, All India Institute of Local Self Government.
