TNPL Q1 net profit at Rs.23.73 Crores

Tamil Nadu Newsprint & Papers Ltd (TNPL) has announced the Un-Audited financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2007.

The Company has posted a profit after tax of Rs 237.30 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2007 as compared to Rs 188.10 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2006. Total Income has increased from Rs 1837.00 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 to Rs 2191.10 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2007.

The company has reported an Earnings Per Share (EPS) of Rs.3.43 in Q1 2007-2008 compared to Rs.2.72 during Q1 2006-2007.

The stock closed the day at Rs.100.45, down by Rs.0.90 or 0.89%. The total traded quantity was 41729 compared to 2 week average of 36309. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs.103.30 and low of Rs.99.30.
