MTNL Q4 profit after tax at Rs.2063.27 million, total income at Rs.13860.74 million

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) has announced the following Unaudited results for the quarter & year ended March 31, 2007. The results for the Quarter ended March 31, 2007: The Company has posted a net profit of Rs 2063.27 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2007 as compared to Rs 1402.71 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2006. Total Income has decreased from Rs 15945.15 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2006 to Rs 13860.74 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2007.

The results for the Year ended March 31, 2007: The Company has posted a net profit of Rs 6431.26 million for the year ended March 31, 2007 as compared to Rs 5802.92 million for the year ended March 31, 2006. Total Income has decreased from Rs 60909.98 million for the year ended March 31, 2006 to Rs 55306.90 million for the year ended March 31, 2007.

The figures for the year ended March 31, 2006 are Audited.

The stock closed the day at Rs.152.35, down by Rs.9.50 or 5.87%. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs.165.70 and low of Rs.150.10. The total traded quantity was 2066359 compared to 2 week average of 841303.
