Zydus receives tentative approval for Losartan Potassium tablets

Cadila Healthcare Ltd has announced that the Company has received tentative approval for Losartan Potassium Tablets in the strengths of 25 mg, 50 mg and 100 mg from the USFDA. The branded sales of Losartan Potassium Tablets, which falls in the anti-hypertensive segment, is estimated at USD 817 million in 2006 as per NDC Health.

The group now has 23 approvals since the commencement of filing process in FY 2003-04. Currently the group markets 9 generics through its subsidiary Zydus Pharmaceuticals (USA) Inc.

The stock closed the day at Rs.330.90, down by Rs.2.35 or 0.71%. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs.339 and low of Rs.329. The total traded quantity was 7248 compared to 2 week average of 5742.
