Katwa Udyog EGM rejects name change proposal

Katwa Udyog Ltd has announced that the members at the Extra-Ordinary General Meeting (EGM) of the Company held on February 28, 2007, had discussion on change of name of the Company. "Mr Dinesh Kotecha, a member, proposed to drop the resolution for change of name of the Company. He was of the opinion that the Company has been manufacturing and selling cement for more than a decade under the name "Jyoti Cements" which has become the brand name. He stated that the name SHREE KESHAV CEMENTS LTD does not reflect the brand name of its product which may not appeal to the majority of its stake holders. Further, it would create unnecessary confusion amongst its stake holders. Hence, he expressed his unwillingness to adopt the new name. Mr. Bimal Kumar Jalan, a member, seconded his view. Therefore, the members decided to drop the resolution."
