Polaris reassessed at CMMI Level 5

Polaris Software Lab Ltd on March 06, 2007 has announced that it has been successfully reassessed at CMMI Level 5 (Version 1.2). The Company's Investment Banking & Capital Markets Business Solution Centre (BSC) in Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai Enterprise Business Solution Centre in Delhi, and Corporate Banking Business Solution centre at Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai have been appraised using SCAMPI V 1.2 methodology.

Speaking on the occasion, Rama Sivaraman, Senior Vice President and Head, Corporate Quality, of the Company, said, "Polaris was the first Company in the world to achieve CMMI Level 5 certification. This reassessment is very significant because SCAMPI V 1.2 is the latest and most stringent appraisal methodology recently launched by SEI. Polaris is one of the first few Companies in the world to opt for reassessment against version 1.2. About 57% of Polaris employees have been covered through two distinct back-to-back and independent appraisals, which makes these appraisals very unique."

The Phase 1 of these appraisals, covering CMMI training, appraisal methodology training, and review of work products of over 75 projects (45% of all projects), was completed between December 05 and 22, 2006. Phase 2, called the "on-site" period and comprising interviews of representatives of projects and functions, was completed between January 22 and February 08, 2007.

Trimentus Technologies was the Lead Appraiser for these appraisals. Under the SCAMPI V 1.2 methodology, only a Lead Appraiser certified by SEI is authorized to conduct a Level 4 or 5 appraisal.
