IOL Broadband to offer 3 main channel bouquets through IPTV

IOL Broadband Ltd on March 02, 2007 has announced that it is set to offer 3 main channel bouquets available in India i.e. Star Bouquet, OneAlliance (including Sony) and the Zee Turner Bouquet totaling to over 60 Premium Pay IPTV channels alongwith 90 Free-to-Air channels. This represents a watershed event, in that a credible option to CAS & DTH has now become available for the first time in India.

The Company is the first Company to launch IPTV recently in India. Further reinforcing the fact that IPTV is now gaining traction in Indian market. The Company's Director Mr. A S Oberai said that with the introduction of commercial services by IOL IPTV on Fibre and ADSL networks; India has joined an Elite club of developed countries like Japan, Korea, UK, USA etc., where IPTV has been recently introduced. IPTV is experiencing explosive, exponential growth worldwide. The CAPEX in IPTV worldwide is in excess of 50 Billion Dollars, signifying a major shift from traditional media to 21st century interactive IPTV technology.

The Company is deploying IPTV all over the country after integrating proven technology providers. IOL technology providers have already deployed similar system Comcast USA, NTT Japan and Australia, Fastweb, Italy to name the few existing deployments.

Commercial deployment of IPTV by IOL is eminent, the Company's spokesman said.
