Infotech Enterprises does its bit for socially deprived children

Infotech Enterprises Ltd has announced that the Company through its Infotech Enterprises Charitable Trust (IECT) is associated with Project Krushi of Association Saikorian for over five years. The objective of this association is to create a bright future for the socially deprived children in Hyderabad by providing them the amenities required at the school for offering quality education.

His Excellency, Shri. Rameshwar Thakur, Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Orissa inaugurated the new Krushi home on February 24, 2007 to provide shelter for over 150 children. Mementos were presented on this occasion to key contributors to the cause of deprived children.

The Company has been committed to supporting the cause of the underprivileged children in and around Hyderabad by creating better facilities for their education. The Company adopted the Government Upper Primary School located in Shamshiguda, Kukatpally to provide quality-learning environment to students. This enabled the school to upgrade themselves to secondary school and increase the number of students to around 600. IECT spent about Rs 15 Lakhs to construct classrooms and provide benches, lighting and fans for the school. Infotech has decided to contribute 0.5 per cent of its net profit to IECT for Improving educational facilities in Government Schools located in the backward areas in and around Hyderabad.

Receiving the memento from the Governor, Mr. Ashok Reddy, Executive Vice President - Human Resource & Corporate Affairs, of the Company said, "The Company has been supporting Project Krushi for over five years now with the singular objective of improving the amenities in the school to deliver good quality education to the children. We have also roped in our esteemed clients M/s. Pratt & Whitney and M/s. KPN Telecom to contribute to the cause.

The Company views itself as a facilitator of change, and is committed to creating social environments conducive to progress. Pratt & Whitney, a Division of United Technologies Corporation, earlier in Feb 2007 had offered a grant of $ 15,000 to Association Saikorian for the Krushi School to improve their infrastructure. Project Krushi under the Sailcorian Association provides education, rehabilitation, and medical care to homeless children in India.
