MHRA, UK approves Strides Arcolab's Sterile Products manufacturing site in Bangalore

Strides Arcolab Ltd on February 19, 2007 has announced that the Company has been intimated by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), UK that its manufacturing site for Sterile Products (Non-Penicillin and Non-Cephalosporins) in Bangalore has been qualified as compliant with the principles and guidelines of good manufacturing practices as laid down in Commission Directive 2003/94/EC.

In a statement Mr. Arun Kumar, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Company stated that "the MHRA approval of the Sterile Products Division, Bangalore is an important milestone in the Company's European market strategy. The facility has also received approval from the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), Australia, Health Products and Food Branch Inspectorate, Canada and Anvisa, Brazil."
