Gulf Oil Corporation Ltd has announced that IDLconsult, the mining and infrastructure division of the Company was awarded a Mining Contract worth Rs 1100 million by Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL). The project is to be executed over a period of 24 months at Manuguru OC 2 in Khammam District in A.P.
SCCL is one of the largest coalmining Companies in India and it has turned around from a loss making situation to a highly profitable organization by the process of outsourcing their main mining activities in the last five years.
IDLconsult undertakes works for drilling, blasting, excavation, hauling, and dump-yard management in the Mining Sector. It also possesses the skills for controlled blasting, tunneling & shaft sinking in the Infrastructure Sector.
Earlier IDLconsult executed two major coalmining contracts in SCCL worth about Rs 900 million successfully. Their last Project at Koyagudem was adjudged the "Best Mine" among all coalmines in the Singareni Collieries by the Directorate General of Mine Safety. Also, the Division´s excellent Mine Planning, Design & Operation, the Kasia Mine of the Aditya Birla Group in the Barbil Sector is acknowledged as the "Model Iron Ore Mine".
The Division has the distinction of executing the prestigious Delhi Metro Project successfully wherein regular controlled blastings were conducted for 22 nos shaft sinking and about 3 km of tunneling. The work was handed over to IDLconsult Division by IMCC, a JV between Dywidag (Germany), L&T, Samsung (Korea), IRCON and Shimizu (Japan).
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Subhas Pramanik, Managing Director, of the Company said, "We are honoured to have bagged this large contract and we shall continue to maintain the same standards of excellence in our performance and contribute to the economic growth in the Mining industry. Our Mining & Infrastructure Division has doubled its Service Income in 2005-06 to Rs 72 cr. We now have plans to double it again in 2006-07."
