Indian Markets extend trading halt till 11:55 as NIFTY hits second circuit limit

The Indian Markets opened big bang at the upper circuit filter in just few seconds after market opened. The BSE Sensex hit the upper circuit of 13479.39, up by 1305.97 points or 10.73% compared to its close of 12173.42 on Friday.

The NSE S&P CNX NIFTY hit the upper circuit of 4203.30, up by 531.65 points or 14.48% compared to its close of 3671.65 on Friday. The resounding victory of Congress led UPA front in the parliamentary elections have been given a big thumbs up by the markets.

The NSE and BSE discussed on extent of trading halt as NSE S&P CNX NIFTY has already neared the second upper circuit filter of 15%. The stock exchanges decided to extend the trading halt till 11:55 AM now from the previously announced 10:55 AM.
