NIITinks pact with Egyptian Ministry of Communication & IT for building ICT manpower in the region

NIIT Ltd has announced that the Company has entered into an agreement with Information Technology Institute (ITI), Cairo, under the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, Govt. of Egypt to build a pool of skilled professionals for the ICT industry in the country. The training major will offer its IT education programmes through the innovative 'NIIT Inside' model integrated with the ITI curriculum.

A Memorandum of Understanding to this effect was signed between the two parties represented by Dr. Eng Mohamed A Salem, Chairman, Information Technology Institute, Cairo and Mr. G Raghavan, President of the Company's Individual Learning Business, in the presence of Dr. Shaqeel Ahmad, Minister of State, Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, Govt of India; Dr. Tarek Kamel, Minister of Communications & Information Technology, Govt. of Egypt and Md. Higazi, Egyptian Ambassador to India in the capital, recently.

Dr. Mohamed Abdel Kader Salem expressed his confidence that the alliance with NIIT will help the institute in building a large pool of trained ICT professionals for the Egyptian market.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. G Raghavan, President of the Company's Individual Learning Business said, "NIIT is committed to building a pool of skilled ICT professionals for the rapidly growing IT industry, across the globe."

"With this historic partnership, ITI and NIIT will jointly explore the possibility of introducing relevant programmes of NIIT in ICT and business skills in Egypt".

The tie up is aimed at facilitating and developing a meaningful and mutually beneficial relationship to foster ICT capacity building by way of class-room and online learning through the "NIIT Inside" Model. This innovative business model from the Company has its curriculum and training methodology embedded in programmes offered by a large number of Universities and Colleges in 30 countries, across the globe.

ITI has trained thousands of students for over a decade and has been instrumental in providing local, regional and international markets with trained professionals in various IT domains who make up the backbone of the IT work force in Egypt. In addition, ITI through its GOV training programme has trained 50,000 Government employees and supervised the training of over 4,00,000 in Governorate's Training Centres.
