Thirumalai Chemicals Restarts Maleic Anhydride Plant

With reference to the earlier announcement dated September 22, 2006 regarding Shutdown of Maleic Anhydride Plant, Thirumalai Chemicals Ltd has announced that the Company has now restarted the Maleic Anhydride (MAN) Plant. With the restart, the Company's captive requirement of MAN, the demand from Local and Export customers which forms nearly 65% of the capacity will be met. With Chinese cost of production also increasing, the dumping is expected to taper off & demand in India is expected to be good at remunerative prices during the coming months.

Further the Company has informed that, the Company has received Export orders for its various products worth about USD 2.2 Million (about Rs 10 Crores), shipments of which will be completed before December 2006.
