The Foundation stone laying ceremony for new Integrated Terminal Building was held at Vadodara today. The new Integrated Terminal Building will have an area of 18120 sqm and will be a glass and steel structure having modern passenger friendly facilities such as central air conditioning system, inline x-ray baggage inspection system integrated with the baggage conveyor system, escalators, public address system, Flight Information Display System (FIDS), CCTV for surveillance, check in counters with Common Use Terminal Equipment (CUTE), car parking, etc.
The Integrated Terminal Building will have peak hour passenger handling capacity of 700 passengers and annual handling capacity of 7.30 lakhs. The integrated building will have Domestic Passenger handling capacity of 500 and International Passenger Handling Capacity of 200. The building woul have 18 Check-in counters, 2 X ray scanners (for baggage).
The Integrated Terminal Building will have 8 Immigration Counters, 6 Custom Counters, 4 Security check booths and 3 Conveyor Belt – arrival.
The Apron is to be extended to cater for parking of 07 Category 'C' type of aircrafts.
