BSE removes Satyam Computers from Sensex, other indices

Bombay Stock Exchange has removed the tainted Satyam Computers stock from its indices including Sensex. Satyam Computers were earlier removed by NSE from its indices.

Satyam Computers Ltd will be removed from Sensex on January 12, 2009 and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd will replace it. In BSE-100 index, Satyam Computers Ltd will be replaced by GlaxoSmithkline Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

From BSE-200 index, Satyam Computers Ltd will be removed and Castrol India Ltd will replace it. In BSE-500 Index, Satyam Computers Ltd will be replaced by Cadila Healthcare Ltd.

Additionally, Satyam Computers Ltd will also be excluded from BSE-TECk and BSE IT index.
