CESC announces Q1 net profit of Rs.55 Crores

CESC Ltd has announced the following Unaudited results for the quarter ended June 30, 2006:

The Company has posted a profit after tax of Rs 550 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 (Q1 FY 06-07) as compared to Rs 410 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 (Q1 FY 05-06). Total Income has increased from Rs 6880 million in Q1 FY 05-06 to Rs 6950 million for Q1 FY 06-07.
