IndiGo expands its Middle East footprint with new Bengaluru-Riyadh direct flights, starting 16 November 2025 
              According to the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, which is responsible for supervising the security of all civil aviation installations in the country, there is no veracity of the reported incident of firing at the International Terminal of the IGI Airport, New Delhi.
An incident of gunshot firing was reported to the CISF personnel deployed at Terminal-2, IGI Airport at around 1.00 a.m. today. The CISF as per their Standard Operating Procedure took all necessary steps and measures to check and verify the genuineness of this incident. Nothing suspicious has been found. The inquiry into the incident is still going on by all concerned agencies to ascertain if at all there is a miss. Delhi Police is also investigating to verify whether any suspicious vehicle did exist as has been reported about this incident.
All steps were taken to normalize the situation and ensure the smooth functioning of the airport. The incident has not hampered the operations of the airport which is functional.
Meanwhile, stringent security measures continue to be taken at the airport. Intensive checking and enhanced surveillance of the entire area is being carried out to ensure passenger safety.
