              The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil has strongly condemned the series of terror attacks in Mumbai which took place late last night. The President has said, that such acts are highly condemnable and has urged the people in Mumbai to maintain calm and to cooperate with the authorities at this crucial moment.
The President has said she is confident that the authorities will bring the situation under control.
The Vice President of India Shri M. Hamid Ansari has strongly condemned the heinous terrorist attacks that occurred overnight in various areas of Mumbai.
He expressed deep shock at the scale of the attacks in the heart of Mumbai city that have caused numerous fatalities and casualties among innocent people. He said that such terrorist acts are aimed at destabilizing the nation and urged all citizens to unite in this critical hour. He paid homage to the security officials who have laid their life in the line of duty and expressed deepest condolences to the families of those killed and injured in the attacks.
The Vice President reiterated the resolve of the Indian people to fight terrorism.
