TNPL takes up plantation activities

Tamil Nadu Newsprint & Papers Ltd (TNPL) has announced that:

The Company has taken up plantation activities to augment the sources of wood supply. The Company is developing Farm Forestry and Captive Plantation in a massive way. So far, the Company has planned to raise pulpwood plantation in 10,000 acres during the current year through Farm Forestry and Captive Plantation programmes.

The Mill Development Plan (MDP) being implemented at a capital outlay of Rs 5650 million will be completed in all respects by June 2007. Under the plan, the in-house pulp capacity will be increased from 520 tpd to 800 tpd with Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF) bleaching sequence. The production capacity will be increased from 230,000 tonnes per annum to 245,000 tonnes per annum.
