JSW Steel increases price of Galvanised Steel

JSW Steel Ltd on November 01, 2006, has announced a hike of Rs 1000/ tonne for its galvanized steel while the price for HR Coils remains unchanged.

MVS Seshagiri Rao, Director - Finance, said "The price hike for galvanized steel has been necessitated by the steep increase in zinc prices in the international markets. The price of zinc has gone up by $ 800 - $ 900 in the international market in the last 30 - 35 days. This increase in galvanized steel prices in the Indian market reflects only a part of the increasing impact of raw material price."
