Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Reports Q1 FY27 Results: Consolidated Revenue Up 23.8% YoY to ₹906.64 Crore

Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Limited (GMDC) has announced its unaudited standalone and consolidated financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026. Driven by an expansion in its core mining segment, the state-owned enterprise posted strong top-line growth, with consolidated revenue from operations rising nearly 24% year-over-year.

Consolidated Operational & Revenue Performance

For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, GMDC reported consolidated revenue from operations of ₹906.64 crore, representing a 23.76% YoY growth compared to ₹732.60 crore in Q1 FY26 and an 11.37% sequential increase from ₹814.05 crore in Q4 FY26.

With other income standing at ₹76.15 crore (up from ₹11.10 crore in Q1 FY26), total consolidated income reached ₹982.79 crore, marking a 21.29% expansion over ₹810.30 crore recorded in the same period last year.

Segment Revenue & Operating Results

Mining Segment: Net sales reached ₹841.01 crore (vs. ₹685.24 crore in Q1 FY26), generating segment operating results of ₹208.07 crore (vs. ₹172.60 crore in Q1 FY26).

Power Segment: Revenue stood at ₹111.25 crore (vs. ₹47.36 crore in Q1 FY26). The segment narrowed its operating loss to ₹(6.00) crore, compared to an operating loss of ₹(40.98) crore in Q4 FY26.

Inter-Segment Revenue Elimination: ₹45.62 crore.

Consolidated Expenditure Analysis

Total consolidated expenses for Q1 FY27 came in at ₹755.54 crore, up from ₹585.87 crore in Q1 FY26. Key expenditure drivers included:

Loading of Lignite & Overburden Removal: ₹436.78 crore (up from ₹290.90 crore in Q1 FY26)

Other Expenses: ₹144.07 crore (compared to ₹96.94 crore in Q1 FY26)

Royalties & Other Tax Levies: ₹86.70 crore (vs. ₹59.53 crore in Q1 FY26)

Employee Benefit Expenses: ₹42.27 crore (vs. ₹37.15 crore in Q1 FY26)

Depreciation & Amortisation: ₹33.33 crore (vs. ₹22.00 crore in Q1 FY26)

Finance Costs: ₹6.61 crore (vs. ₹0.51 crore in Q1 FY26)

Changes in Inventories: ₹5.78 crore

Consolidated Profitability & Comprehensive Income

Profit Before Tax (PBT): Stood at ₹227.25 crore, compared to ₹224.43 crore in Q1 FY26 and ₹204.96 crore (before exceptional items) in Q4 FY26.

Share of Profit from Joint Ventures/Associates: Contributed ₹0.42 crore.

Tax Expenses: Totaled ₹64.24 crore (comprising current tax of ₹64.75 crore, deferred tax credit of ₹(0.58) crore, and earlier year provision adjustments of ₹0.07 crore).

Net Profit After Tax (PAT): Came in at ₹163.43 crore, remaining steady relative to ₹163.77 crore in Q1 FY26.

Other Comprehensive Income (OCI): Recorded at ₹(6.48) crore (net of tax), taking total comprehensive income to ₹156.95 crore.

Earnings Per Share (EPS): Basic and Diluted EPS for the quarter stood at ₹5.14 per equity share (face value ₹2/- each).

On a standalone basis, GMDC recorded identical operational revenue alongside strong profitability metrics:

Revenue from Operations: ₹906.64 crore

Other Income: ₹76.15 crore

Total Income: ₹982.79 crore

Total Expenses: ₹755.54 crore

Profit Before Tax (PBT): ₹227.25 crore (vs. ₹224.69 crore in Q1 FY26)

Net Profit After Tax (PAT): ₹163.01 crore (vs. ₹164.13 crore in Q1 FY26)

Total Comprehensive Income: ₹156.53 crore

Standalone Basic & Diluted EPS: ₹5.13 per share

Capital & Asset Position

As of June 30, 2026, GMDC's paid-up equity share capital remained at ₹63.60 crore (face value ₹2/- per share). Balance sheet reserves stood at ₹7,009.14 crore on a consolidated basis and ₹7,004.97 crore on a standalone basis as of March 31, 2026. Total consolidated segment assets expanded to ₹9,324.65 crore, supported by mining segment assets of ₹4,095.65 crore and power segment assets of ₹1,224.17 crore.
