The new facility is located at Hook, Hampshire, UK, and was formally commissioned on July 07, 2026.

Inauguration of Pilot Line: Offgrid has launched an initial 10 MWh demonstration line in the UK. This operational milestone transitions their proprietary technology from laboratory scale to commercial pilot-scale production.

Direct Raw Material Synergy: Archean Chemical is a premier global exporter of Bromine. Offgrid's battery platform relies directly on zinc-bromide chemistry, establishing a powerful supply-chain synergy between Archean's core chemical business and the future of clean energy storage.

No Additional Capital Outflow: Archean clarified that this development does not require any immediate or additional financial commitments from the company.

Understanding the ZincGel® Platform

ZincGel® is Offgrid Energy's patented zinc-bromide battery technology specifically designed for infrastructure-scale, stationary, and Long-Duration Energy Storage (LDES) applications.

What is LDES? Long-Duration Energy Storage systems are designed to store power and dispatch it continuously over long windows-ranging from 10 hours to several days-which is essential for managing the natural intermittency of renewable energy sources like wind and solar power.
