Nibe Limited, in technical collaboration with a foreign OEM, successfully demonstrated on NC-NC basis, the capabilities of Garudastra, its advanced Long Range 120mm Vehicle Mounted Mortar and Bomb System. The demonstration showcased rapid shoot-and-scoot operations, high-rate of fire, Multiple Rounds Simultaneous Impact (MRSI) and precision engagement of the Guided Munition using GPS and Laser guidance. The demonstration was conducted at the Infantry School, Mhow on June 17, 2026.
The demonstration commenced with a tactical Shoot & Scoot mission. Garudastra occupied a temporary firing position, came into action in under 30 seconds, and engaged the target with two rounds in less than 15 seconds. The system then displaced from the location within 15 seconds to evade simulated counter-battery fire before relocating to its main firing position, where it re-engaged the target with equal accuracy.
Garudastra subsequently showcased its exceptional rate of fire, with a two-man crew firing 12 rounds in 60 seconds while maintaining outstanding accuracy.
A successful Multiple Rounds Simultaneous Impact (MRSI) mission followed, with three rounds fired on different trajectories and with different times of flight, striking the target simultaneously and delivering concentrated effects on the target.
The highlight of the demonstration was the firing of Precision-Guided Munition using GPS and Laser guidance. The round fired from long range achieved a direct hit on a 3 m × 3 m target, demonstrating exceptional precision.
The successful demonstration highlighted Nibe Limited's commitment to delivering first ever next-generation firepower solution to the Indian Armed Forces under Atmanirbhar Bharat vision. Combining rapid mobility, high-volume firepower, advanced MRSI capability, and precision-guided engagement, Garudastra represents a significant enhancement in battlefield effectiveness, survivability and operational flexibility for modern combat operations.
