Hero MotoCorp, the world's largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, reported a strong performance in May 2026 with dispatches of 570,068 units as compared to 507,701 units during the same period last year. Domestic retail momentum also remained robust during the month, with 496,957* VAHAN registrations.

Motorcycles: Retaining its core volume leadership position, the motorcycle segment grew 6.02%, dispatching 503,763 units during the month under review against 475,164 units in May 2025.
Scooters: The scooter vertical emerged as the stellar performer, more than doubling its volumes with an astronomical 103.78% growth. Total dispatches skyrocketed to 66,305 units in May 2026, up significantly from 32,537 units logged in the base month last year.
Geographical Market Performance
Hero MotoCorp recorded broad-based progress across both its domestic market network and international shipping lines:
Domestic Dispatches: Wholesale dispatches within the Indian domestic market rose 9.77% to reach 536,784 units compared to 488,997 units in May 2025.
Export Shipments: The brand's focus on international market expansion yielded outstanding returns, with exports surging by 77.95% to close at 33,284 units in May 2026, up from 18,704 units dispatched in the previous year's base month.
Year-to-Date (YTD) Cumulative Performance
The powerful performance in May has set up a highly encouraging cumulative trajectory for the first two months of the 2026-27 financial year (FY27).
Total consolidated YTD volumes for April-May 2026 expanded by an impressive 39.73%, climbing to 1,136,154 units against 813,107 units managed during the corresponding timeframe last fiscal.

VIDA, Hero MotoCorp's Emerging Mobility business, continued its strong performance with 19,052 VAHAN registrations, delivering 166% retail growth in May 2026, compared to the same period last year. Strategically positioned to capture a new demographic of young riders, the Company expanded its EV market reach with the commencement of the DIRT.E K3 retail operations in select markets, further expanding its electric mobility product portfolio and accessibility.

The Company's overall domestic motorcycle and scooter business sustained strong momentum in May 2026, registering robust ~10% dispatch growth compared to the corresponding period last year. This growth was led by strong performance in the Deluxe 125cc, premium motorcycle and scooter segments, each registering double-digit growth.
The Company also successfully launched the all-new Super Splendor XTEC 2.0, building on the model's trusted legacy of over three decades with enhanced technology and rider-centric features, further strengthening its leadership in the 125cc segment.
GLOBAL BUSINESS DELIVERS ROBUST GROWTH
The Company's Global Business recorded robust growth with dispatches of 33,284 units, reflecting ~78% year-on-year growth. Strong demand across its international markets, supported by an expanding premium product portfolio and focused market expansions, continued to drive solid growth momentum.
