IREDA Enhances Borrowing Limits to Rs 35,800 Cr for FY26

Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited's Board approved increasing FY 2025-26 borrowing plan from Rs 30,800 crore to Rs 35,800 crore.

Expanded Funding Instruments

Borrowings include taxable bonds, subordinated Tier-II bonds, perpetual debt instruments, bank term loans, international lines of credit, short-term loans, working capital demand loans, and ECBs.

FY27 Market Borrowing Programme

New Rs 40,000 crore resource raising approved for FY 2026-27 (excluding Extra Budgetary Resources), covering green masala bonds, foreign currency bonds (USD/EUR/JPY), bond ETFs, tax-free bonds, commercial papers, FCNR-B loans, and rupee-denominated foreign currency borrowings.

Board decision announced March 19, 2026, supports renewable energy financing requirements across multiple tranches based on market conditions.
