Coal India reports marginal production growth in February 2026

Coal India Limited (CIL) (Scrip Code: 533278) and NSE (ISIN: INE522F01014) disclosed its provisional coal production and offtake performance for February 2026 and the April 2025-February 2026 period.

CIL achieved coal production of 74.7 million tonnes (MT) in February 2026, reflecting a 0.7% increase from 74.1 MT in February 2025. Subsidiaries like ECL produced 5.7 MT (up 3.3%), NCL 11.2 MT (up 2.1%), and SECL 18.1 MT (up 2.7%), while WCL saw 6.5 MT (down 13.4%).

Offtake for the month stood at 62.0 MT, down 1.5% from 62.9 MT last year. SECL led with 16.1 MT (up 11.0%), but BCCL dropped to 2.2 MT (down 28.8%) and WCL to 5.0 MT (down 21.4%).

For the April 2025-February 2026 period, cumulative production reached 683.7 MT, a 1.7% decline from 695.3 MT. SECL grew to 156.8 MT (up 7.0%), offset by BCCL's 31.1 MT (down 14.0%) and CCL's 70.3 MT (down 7.3%). Cumulative offtake was 674.6 MT, down 2.8% from 694.1 MT, with SECL at 161.9 MT (up 4.3%).

Shares of Coal India Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 430.70 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 433.65. The total number of shares traded during the day was 734090 in over 11563 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 434.50 and intraday low of 425.55. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 315167604.00.
