Bharti Airtel prepays Rs. 3,626 crores to clear all liabilities for spectrum acquired in 2016

Bharti Airtel ("Airtel"), one of India's leading telecommunications service providers, today said that it has prepaid Rs. 3,626 crores to the Department of Telecom (Government of India) clearing all its liabilities for spectrum it had acquired in 2016. With this, Airtel has now prepaid all its spectrum dues that had interest costs higher than 8.65%.

Airtel has prepaid a total of Rs 28,320 crores of spectrum liabilities in this calendar year.

Shares of Bharti Airtel Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 1601.45 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 1615.30. The total number of shares traded during the day was 373827 in over 3943 trades.

The stock hit an intraday high of Rs. 1625.20 and intraday low of 1596.25. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 598920686.00.
