SONATA Software Consolidated Q2 Net Profit at Rs.9.88 Crs. up 56% Y.O.Y, interim dividend declared at 50%

Mumbai, October 20, 2006 : The Board of Directors at its Meeting held here today, took on record the audited accounts of Sonata Software Limited for the quarter ended 30th September 2006.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. B Ramaswamy, President & Managing Director, stated that, "Sustained improvement over the last 12 quarters in key parameters like PAT, Cash flow generation, ROCE and operating margins has been maintained. All this has been organic, and going forward the inorganic strategy will help sustain the growth trajectory. The acquisition of shares of TUI Infotech will be completed during the 3rd Quarter."

- Revenue at Rs.470.6 mn up 30%
- EBIDT at Rs. 123.4 mn up 57%
- PAT at Rs. 92.64 mn up 65%
- ROCE (Annualized) at 20.47% as compared to 12.85% for the same quarter last year.
- Cash Generation from operations at Rs.90.76 mn
- Cash Reserves as on 30.9.2006 at Rs.587.9 mn
- 6 New clients added during the quarter
- Receivables as number of day’s sales have reduced from 83 to 80 days

Half year

- Revenue at Rs.909.0 mn up 37%
- EBIDT at Rs. 240.4mn up 61%
- PAT at Rs. 180.2mn up 68%
- ROCE (Annualized) at 20.19% as compared to 12.30% for the same period last year.

Consolidated Quarter 2

- Revenue at Rs.1506.2 mn up 32%
- EBIDT at Rs.148.4 mn up 50%
- EBIDT % of international software services exports is at 25.72% compared to 20.05 % during the same quarter last year
- PAT at Rs.98.76 mn up 56%
- ROCE (Annualized) at 21.70% as compared to 14.89% for the same period last year.
- Cash Reserves as on 30.9.2006 at Rs.746.4 mn
- The geographical spread of international software services export was USA 49.86% & Europe 50.14%
- Total number of employees as on 30th September, 2006 was 1761

Half year

- Revenue at Rs.2587.8 mn up 30%
- EBIDT at Rs.292.3 mn up 62%
- EBIDT % of international software services exports is at 26.44% compared to 19.83 % during the same quarter last year
- PAT at Rs.194.9 mn up 73%
- ROCE (Annualized) at 21.66% as compared to 13.19% for the same period last year.
