Godawari Power and Ispat Ltd receives consent to operate enhanced capacity at Raipur plant

GODAWARI POWER AND ISPAT LIMITED has received today i.e. 22.12.2023 an approval letter dated 20.12.2023 from Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board ('Board') vide which the Board has accorded its "Consent To Operate" for enhanced capacity of Steel Melting Shop (SMS) from 4,00,000 Metric Tons per annum to 5,25,000 Metric Tons per annum at existing plant site at Siltara Industrial Area, Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

With the approval for consent to operate the higher capacity of Steel Billets manufacturing, the sponge iron manufactured by the Company shall be 100% captively consumed, which will lead value addition and improvement in the operating margins. The additional power required to operate the higher capacity in SMS plant, will be met from additional power being generated from recently commissioned higher efficiency power generating turbine. Overall increased capacity will be value accretive. The plant with higher capacity has started operating with immediate effect.
