SC Soft Pte Ltd (SC Soft), a Singapore based subsidiary of Aurionpro has announced go-live of automatic fare collection (AFC) systems at Raajje Transport Link (RTL) service under the Integrated National Public Ferry Network (INPFN) in Zone 1 of the National Public Ferry Network connecting 13 islands in Haa Dhaalu Atoll via five routes.
This is the first phase of the project, covering ferry services, successfully completed as a part of the deal signed by SC Soft for the digitization of multiple modes of transports across Maldives for the Maldives Transport Contracting Company (MTCC). SC Soft in this project is the Technology Partner along with Bank of Maldives (BML) and Mastercard as the Financial Partners.
Raajje Transport Link (RTL) is an initiative of the Government of Maldives under the auspices of the Integrated National Public Ferry Network (INPFN) project to connect the islands, atolls and people of Maldives. Announced in 2021 and spearheaded by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, RTL was conceived to be delivered to the public over three phases by MTCC. MTCC,
through this initiative seeks to introduce contactless and digital payments on its transport network, making travelling simpler in a cost effective manner.
The Passengers can book tickets online for the RTL ferry service, via the app or the web portal. The app can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play Store. Payment can be made via epayment gateway and tickets are generated in the form of QR which can be scanned on validators installed on the ferry. Citizens can also purchase tickets using cash at ferry terminals.
