Based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Board of Directors of Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd in its meeting held on 9th March 2022 have appointed Dr. Ajay Bhushan Prasad Pandey (DIN 07939197), as an Additional Director in the capacity of an Independent Director for a first term of 5 years, with effect from 9th March 2022, subject to the approval of members of the Company. The approval of the members to be taken by means of Postal Ballot.
Dr. Ajay Bhushan Prasad Pandey (Age 61 years) has completed PhD in Computer Science, Masters in Computer Science from University of Minnesota, USA and Undergraduate in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur. He has been one of the most prominent faces of the India's digital era, with extensive influence across finance, technology and infrastructure. Over the last decade, he has been at the helm of several historic and ground-breaking India's reforms in Aadhaar, digital payments, Goods and Services Tax (GST), Customs and Central Excise, Direct Tax, Disinvestment, and Government Finance. He served as Secretary, Information Technology, Managing Director, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company and held several other key positions in Maharashtra State. His recent roles include Finance Secretary and Revenue Secretary of India, and Chairman of the Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN), and CEO of the Unique Identification Authority of India (Aadhaar). For his contribution to Aadhaar and India's digital growth, he was conferred with the Economic Times Award for Policy Change Agent in 2019. Previous awardees include renowned achievers like Nandan Nilekani, Arun Jaitley, E Sreedharan, Montek Singh Ahluwalia. He was awarded the 'Distinguished Leadership Award for Internationals' in 2009 by the University of Minnesota.
