SONATA is MERCURY’S "ASIA PACIFIC PARTNER OF THE YEAR"

BANGALORE - October 16, 2006: Sonata Information Technology Ltd. (Sonata) today announced that the company has been nominated as the "Asia Pacific Partner of the Year" by Mercury Interactive. Sonata was recently honored with this award at ‘Mercury World’, held during October 8-11 at Las Vegas. The US-based Mercury Interactive Corporation (OTC: MERQ) is the global leader in Business Technology Optimization (BTO).

Sonata and Mercury forged a partnership in 2004, to resell and distribute Mercury’s BTO products in the Indian market. Over the past two and a half years, Sonata has made substantial investments in delivering Mercury’s Quality Management solutions through a two-tier distribution model across six regions in India. Sonata has been instrumental in helping grow Mercury’s business in India, with their extensive distribution network and technical strengths.
