Bombay Burmah clarifies on news item

With reference to the news item appearing in a leading financial daily titled "Bombay Burmah treads safe", Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation Ltd has clarified that as stated in Company's Annual Report for the year 2005-06, the Corporation has set up a new unit at Rudrapur, Uttaranchal to manufacture laminates with a view to enhance the Corporation’s presence and improve its cost competitiveness, as Punt has higher cost structure. The Laminates Unit at Rudrapur has successfully started its production and the Formica plant in Pune continues to be operational.

The Corporation believes in maintaining high level of Corporate Governance and Disclosure Standards and will always intimate to the Exchanges all the events, information etc., that have bearing on the operation / performance of the Corporation.
