Bajaj Auto Limited has announced the sales performance for the month of May 2020. The company has reported total sales of 127128 units in May 2020 as against 419235 units in May 2019, registering a drop of 70% YoY. Exports was down 53% YoY to 87054 in May 2020 from 183411 in May 2019. Whereas, the domestic sales dropped 83% YoY to 40074 units in May 2020 as compared to 235824 units in May 2019.
The company reported total sales of 165006 vehicles during the period April 2020 to May 2020 (FY 2020-21) as compared to 842550 vehicles during the period April 2019 to May 2019 (FY 2019-20), a drop of 80%. During this period, exports declined 67% to 124932 in FY 2020-21 as against 374622 in FY 2019-20. Whereas, domestic sales dropped 91% to 40074 in FY 2020-21 as compared to 467928 FY 2019-20.
The company has sold 112798 units of motorcycles during May 2020, as compared to 365068 in May 2019, a drop of 69% YoY. Exports of motorcycles was down 54% YoY to 73512 in May 2020, as against 159347 in May 2019. Whereas, the domestic sales of motorcycles dropped 81% YoY to 39286 units in May 2020 as compared to 205721 units in May 2019.
Commercial Vehicles sales was down 74% at 14330 units in May 2020, as compared to 54167 in May 2019. Exports of Commercial Vehicles was 44% lower at 13542 units in May 2020, as against 24064 in May 2019. Domestic sales of Commercial Vehicles plunged in May 2020 to 788 units as compared to 30103 units in May 2019, lower by 97% YoY.
