Subex Azure Ltd on October 05, 2006 has announced that it is to implement an interconnect billing system for Omantel, the Oman telecommunications company.
Omantel and its mobile business Oman Mobile, provide fixed and mobile services to over 1.5 million customers. Omantel required an interconnect system to enable it to effectively rate, bill and provide settlements on its international and national services and agreements.
Following a competitive tender by the Oman government board, the Subex Azure Interconnect Billing System (SAIBS) was chosen to provide interconnect billing for both Omantel and Oman Mobile. SAIBS is a highly flexible and scalable product, which enables operators to quickly and accurately settle interconnect agreements with their network partners. SAIBS provides operators with visibility of CDRs (call detail records) and costs across all lines of business, supporting a wide range of services including termination and transit, as well as IP, SMS, MMS and 3G. This means that operators now have the ability to adapt to rate changes quickly enabling them to manage costs and revenues much more effectively.
Subash Menon, Founder Chairman, Managing Director & CEO, of the Company said: "We are delighted to be providing interconnect for Omantel. Interconnect billing is a vital part of an operator’s business, therefore having the right tools is essential. The Subex Azure Interconnect Billing System will help Omantel assure its revenues and enable it to continue to provide high-quality telecommunications services."
