Archies Ltd announces September 23, 2007 as "Daughter's Day"

Archies Ltd has announced that the Company has decided to dedicate a day especially to the lovely daughters. In order to appreciate the simplicity and emotions of this beautiful relation. The Company has constituted September 23, 2007, the fourth Sunday of the month as the Daughter's Day. The Company being the leaders in the industry wanted parents to not only feel proud of having daughters but also express their love & celebrate it too.

The thought of creating a Daughter's day had its seeds sown in mind, when everyday stories on the situation of daughter's across India painted a grim situation. India's gender imbalance has worsened in recent years and Daughters today in India is probably the least respected and un-treasured relationship. With female feticide happening in majority of states and reports flooding the media everyday on how daughters till today are thought as a burden in the family, it was inevitable for the Company to highlight the importance of a daughter. The Company thought of canceliing a day that would give Indians an opportunity to celebrate their daughters and tell them how proud their parents are of them.

The stock closed the day at Rs.139.90, up by Rs.0.30 or 0.21%. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs.142.75 and low of Rs.138.05. The total traded quantity was 4821 compared to 2 week average of 6335.
