Avantika to play Mihika in Ye Hai Mohabbatein

Mihika Verma who played Mihika Bhalla on STAR Plus' popular show, Ye Hai Mohabbatein has put in her papers and decided to quit the show. Since then, the production unit has been in search for her replacement.

The team chose Sonal Parihar initially but changed their decision later as she didn't quite fit the character. Now, the production unit has finally zeroed in on Avantika Hundal.

Avantika will make her comeback in television after four years. She says, "I have been busy doing Punjabi films in my time away from tellywood. I really needed this break and enjoyed my time shooting for films. I am excited about playing the role of Mihika on the show as it's a fresh character, a role I have not portrayed before."

Avantika is busy getting briefed about the show and has been watching the shows previous episodes to understand the character better. She adds, "The role is young and vibrant and I'm glad I won't be sporting grey hair to look older or be a mother. I have started prepping for the role although I still have not got the complete brief but I am watching all the episodes of the show to embody the role in a wholesome manner."
