DSIJ organizes the 6th PSU Awards 2014

Dalal Street Investment Journal (DSIJ), India's No.1 investment magazine, yesterday evening organized the PSU Awards 2014, to honor the Public Sector Undertakings (PSU) for their commendable performance. DSIJ has always had great regard for Indian PSUs and recognized their immense contribution to the Indian economy.

The DSIJ Group conferred 15 awards in various categories. Shri Suresh Prabhu,Hon'ble Minister of Railways, GoI, was the Guest along with Gen. (Retd.) V.K.Singh, Minister of State (IC) for Statistics and Programme Implementation Minister of State for Overseas Indian Affairs, External Affairs Govt. of India, Shri KD Tripathi., Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises, GoI. Reflecting on the occasion, Shri Suresh Prabhu, Hon'ble Minister of Railways, GoI, said, " PSU's have been much maligned and ridiculed for a long time. But their contribution to the economy and nation building has been exemplary. Therefore, I am happy that we are finally recognizing them. India needs both a strong private and public sector for the growth of GDP. But PSU's also need a lot of operational freedom to be competitive and hence we are taking steps to ensure that. I congratulate all the PSU's on receiving the 6th DSIJ 2014 awards."
