Vikash Metal starts commercial production at 65000 MTPA Spong Iron Plant

Vikash Metal & Power Ltd has announced that the Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on June 25, 2007, inter alia, has transacted the following:

- The Company has successfully started the commercial production of additional 65000 MTPA Sponge Iron Plant and 85500 MTPA MS Billet Plant

- The Company has undertaken the expansion program or setting up the following plants:

Pelletization Plant: 487500 MTPA
MS Billet Plant: 28500 MTPA
Brequetting Plant: 60000 MTPA

- The Company has undertaken trial run of its 1,50,000 MTPA Hot Rolling Mill.

- The 10 MW Waste Heat recovery Captive Power Plant is ready for Trial Run.

- The 9MVA electric arc furnace Ferroalloy plant is in its final stage of implementation and is expected to commence production with Captive Power Plant.

- The Company has inked a MOU with the Bihar State Electricity Board for execution of 2X250MW Thermal Power Project in Begusarai, Bihar. The Company has been allotted 300 acres of land by B.I.A.D.A for the said project.
