Ashapura Minechem terms news on stake sale to BHP as speculative

With reference to the news items appearing in a leading financial daily titled "BHP plans India Debut - Mining giant eyes 51% in Ashapura Minechem"s Alumina Project in Orissa", Ashapura Minechem Ltd has clarified that the said article is purely of a speculative nature and that there are no concrete plans of any such nature at this point of time.

The stock was trading at Rs.358.45, up by Rs.16.85 or 4.93%. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs.358.65 and low of Rs.345.10. The total traded quantity was 217059 compared to 2 week average of 202161.
