Intertim Budget: Godrej Appliances Spokesperson on Consumer durables industry

Mr. George Menezes, COO, Godrej Appliances commented - "Any relief will give a respite for an industry which is facing sluggish growth. The cut in excise duty from 12% to 10% will create positive sentiments. However its translation to the market place will have to be seen."

Mr. Kamal Nandi, Executive VP, Sales & Marketing, Godrej Appliances commented - "The decrease in excise duty from 12% to 10% will surely boost positive purchase sentiments. However a 2 % drop in excise duty against the average price increase of 10-12% over the last 2 years may not propel growth in the appliances industry."
