WPI Inflation for November 2013 - Angel Broking

Views of Ms. Bhupali Gursale ( Economist - Angel Broking) on WPI Inflation for November 2013:

"The headline WPI inflation during November 2013 has surprised negatively by coming above market expectations. The uptick is driven mainly by higher food inflation, at a 41-month high led by elevated vegetable prices. Going forward, we believe that food inflation is likely to ease to some extent as vegetable prices moderate. Nonetheless, in light of the RBI's hawkish stance on inflation and continued focus on anchoring inflationary pressures we continue to expect the RBI to hike the repo rate by 25bp in its December 18 policy review."
