Indian equities settled lower on Thursday led by IT stocks - Microsec

Indian equities settled lower on Thursday majorly led by the IT, Teck and capital goods sector.

Nifty closed at 6045.85 down by 43.20 points or 0.71% over the previous day closing of 6089.05 after witnessing a low of 6032.55 and a high of 6110.75.Sensex closed at 20415.51 down by 132.11 points or 0.64% over the previous day closing of 20547.62.It touched an intraday low of 20375.42 and high of 20629.80.

The markets' breadth was negative. Out of 2608 stocks traded 1221 stocks advanced, 1242 stocks declined and 145 stocks remained unchanged. In Sensex, Out of 30 stocks 11 stocks advanced 18 stocks declined and 01 stock remain unchanged.

Among the sectors, BSE IT , BSE Teck and BSE Capital Goods were the main losers of the day which decreased by 3.59%, 2.61% and 2.30% respectively.

In BSE IT sector HCL Tech, Mindtree and TCS decreased by 6.66%, 5.15% and 4.98% respectively. In BSE Teck sector Onmobile Global, Tech Mahindra, and Wipro declined by 4.24%,3.49% and 3.00% respectively. In BSE Capital Goods sector Sadbhav Engr, L&T and Welcorp Prestige decreased by 4.04% 3.73% and 2.42% respectively.
