VIX fell by 4.24% - Microsec

The volatility in the equity markets continued unabated as Nifty rose by 106 points on Wednesday after falling by over 200 points on Tuesday.

Nifty Call options of strike 5700 had a build up of 8613 lots while Put options of strike 5000 added 16638 lots to open interest.

Nifty Put Call ratio (OI) rose to 1.26 with the total open interest in Call options at 1,196,177 lots and that in Put options at 1,512,200 lots.

Idea Cellular, BHEL, Godrej Industries, Apollo Tyres and Cairn India appear relatively strong while Sun TV, Tata Chemicals, Bata India, Ranbaxy Laboratories, Wipro Ltd and Maruti are likely to remain weak.

Volatility Index fell by 4.24% from 32.49 to 31.11.
