Indian Markets end Monday on a buoyant note - Microsec

Indian markets settled on a buoyant note on Monday with Sensex regaining 20,000. Reliance Industries led the rally after the company and its partners said they had made a significant gas discovery in the KG-D6 block off India's east coast.

Nifty closed at 6083.15 up by 99.60 points or 1.66% over the previous day closing of 5983.55 after witnessing a low of 5975.55 and a high of 6099.90. Sensex closed at 20030.77 up by 326.44points or 1.66% over the previous day closing of 20062.24.It touched an intraday low of 19678.31 and high of 20083.47.

The markets' breadth was positive. Out of 2485 stocks traded 1364 stocks advanced, 981 stocks declined and 140 stocks remained unchanged. In Sensex, Out of 30 stocks 27 stocks advanced and 03 stocks declined.

Among the sectors, BSE Consumer Durables, BSE Oil & Gas, BSE Metal were the main gainers of the day which increased by 3.00%, 2.76% and 1.95% respectively.

In BSE Consumer Durables sector, Titan Inds , Symphony and Whirlpool increased by 4.58%,4.37% and 3.47% respectively. In BSE Oil & Gas sector Reliance Industries, Oil India and Gail India advanced by 5.12%,1.43% and 1.18% respectively. In BSE Metal sector Jindal stel, Hindalco Inds and Hindustan Zinc increased by 3.61% 3.17% and 2.99% respectively.
